Saitek Industries Ltd.
(www.saitekusa.com) announced today that
they will produce a handheld No Limit
Texas Holdem Poker game. Texas Holdem is
the most popular form of casino poker,
made even more popular by the World
Series of Poker broadcasts on ESPN, the
World Poker Tour, and Celebrity Poker on
Bravo Channel. To take advantage of this
craze, and in keeping with Saitek's
mission statement to offer ever-new and
innovative products, Saitek will bring
this game to consumers in a computer
handheld format. Saitek has had
tremendous success with the company's
electronic chess line, and will now use
this expertise to offer people a chance
to learn and play this popular game of
poker. No Limit Texas Holdem is a
favorite with both advanced poker
players and beginners alike, offering
the perfect balance of chance and
strategy to attract aficionados of all
levels. The game is due out in early
2005 and will be priced around U.S. $50.
Saitek's handheld version will be No
Limit Texas Holdem which allows for a
wide range of betting options while
learning to master the game. Texas
Holdem is easy to learn, but difficult
to master. Saitek's handheld offers
users the opportunity to learn winning
game strategy before hitting the popular
casino tournaments.
"We
have been closely watching the poker
craze and especially the popularity of
Texas Holdem," said Saitek USA CEO, Bill
McMahon. "Saitek has a strong history
for producing winning electronic forms
of play, so we decided to get ahead of
the pack and move quickly to give the
public what they want -- a way to play
Texas Holdem -- anywhere."
McMahon went on to say that he felt
Saitek was the best company to
manufacture the game and get it out
quickly since Saitek is one of the few
hardware peripheral companies that owns
its own manufacturing warehouses and has
the expertise and sales channel to
successfully bring small form factor
games to the mass market.
