-Getting Turbo Texas Holdem for Christmas (hopefully)
-pokerchris-the books that i have so far are super/system (brunson, obviously), play poker like the pros (hellmuth), and championship no-limit and pot limit hold 'em (cloutier), there are several other books at my house that are my fathers including caro's poker tell's book and one other that i don't remember the title of. are there any other recommendations you have?
also-last night i went by hellmuths advice in play poker like the pros and raised preflop every time i got a top 10 hand. but of course, this didn't help in such a loose game and i got outdrawn a few times. however, i broke even-bought back in after i did my homework and did a little better than doubling up. i started to do a lot better once i started playing extremely tight/agressive like i am used to and am definetly not going to start playing looser at all.
should i keep playing only top 10 (except maybe 7's or A/Q off if i am in bad position)? should i play other hands if i have good position? (ie. JAo or QKo ?)
These kids admittingly see the flop every time and will question me for laying down a J9o in bad position. Also, how should I go about dealing with cocky players that talk smack ALL the time and criticize other people's play constantly? The kid who does this is dead money, so I try to ignore him but it is almost to the point where other people won't want to play as often if he is playing.
